We have been making ceramics in L'Alcora for over six decades. Design, product and service alongside architects, distributors and homeowners in more than twenty countries.
Our history
Behind every collection there is a factory that has spent more than sixty years on the same land: L'Alcora, the historic cradle of ceramics in Castellón. La Platera began as a family workshop and has grown generation after generation, never losing the craft that made it great.
Factory and technology
All our production comes out of the same plant in L'Alcora, where we control the entire process: body preparation, pressing, glazing, digital decoration and firing. Manufacturing under one roof lets us respond quickly to large orders and keep the same colour shade from the first box of a batch to the last.
In recent years we have invested in latest-generation digital printing lines and in ever larger sizes, allowing us to faithfully reproduce marbles, concretes and natural stones that were once impossible in ceramics, without giving up the strength and easy maintenance of porcelain tile.

Quality control
Every batch goes through dimensional, calibre and shade checks before leaving the factory, so what you see on the sample is exactly what you receive on site. Any issue is caught before dispatch, not after installation.

Our products comply with European ceramic tile standards (CE marking) and the industry certifications that back their use in demanding residential, commercial and contract projects.
Sustainability
Making ceramics is a process that consumes water, energy and raw materials — and we have been working in the same factory for decades, so how well we do it today, and how we keep doing it twenty years from now, affects us directly. This is not a new message for us: it is simply part of how you run a factory that thinks long term.
We reuse process water, constantly fine-tune the energy consumption of our kilns and work with raw material suppliers that meet current environmental regulations. Porcelain tile is also a durable material in itself: properly installed, it needs no replacement for decades, reducing its footprint compared with shorter-lived materials.

IMPLANTACIÓN DE UN EQUIPO DE DECORACIÓN DIGITAL
El proyecto ha consistido en implantar un equipo de impresión digital por chorro de tinta para mejorar la eficiencia en la fabricación de azulejos. Gracias al proyecto se ahorran anualmente 95 teps y 208 toneladas de emisiones de dióxido de carbono.

El proyecto de inversión ha consistido en la adquisición de un robot de paletizado automático y acoplado a la línea de rectificado.
Los objetivos del proyecto han sido: automatizar y aumentar la productividad de la línea, eliminar trabajos pesados y repetitivos, eliminar errores de manipulación y mejorar el servicio y fiabilidad a nuestros clientes.

Eficiencia y ahorro energético
En La Platera nos esforzamos continuamente en optimizar el ahorro y la eficiencia energética de nuestras instalaciones. Prueba de ello ha sido la incorporación de un recuperador de calor en nuestros hornos de cocción, cuyo proyecto ha sido otorgado con la concesión de fondos FEDER para su realización.

Optimización energética del proceso de cocción de los azulejos
LA PLATERA, S.A. ha recibido una ayuda para su proyecto de ahorro y eficiencia energética “Optimización energética del proceso de cocción de los azulejos” cofinanciada por el Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional (FEDER), coordinada por IDAE y gestionada por las Autonomías, con cargo al Fondo Nacional de Eficiencia Energética, con el objetivo de conseguir una economía más limpia y sostenible.
Se ha elaborado un proyecto de ahorro y eficiencia energética consistente en optimizar el consumo energético mediante la ampliación de la capacidad del sistema de almacenamiento (Boxes) y alimentación de azulejos al horno de cocción. Gracias al proyecto, el potencial de ahorro es de 65,08 tep anuales.
