Slip-resistant porcelain tiles

The Slip-resistant porcelain tiles prevents falls thanks to its adherence quality.

One of the most important factors when selecting the type of tile to be laid on the floor of our project, whether it is the renovation of a house, a business or a new construction, is to know the usage of it.

If the floor tile is going to be installed in the outside to be walked, in a restroom area or a terrace, etc, it is very important to choose a tile which provides the adequate slip-resistant surface to avoid from slipping or falling. Especially if the floor is wet or damp. it is very important to choose a tile which provides the adequate slip-resistant surface to avoid from slipping or falling. Especially if the floor is wet or damp.

In the tile business, there are three major standards to test the slip-resistance of a tile surface. The German standards DIN 51130, DIN 51097 and the Spanish standard UNE-ENV 12633:2003. These slip-resistance values will provide the information about how much anti-slip is a tile surface. Depending on the end-use of each tile we will use the appropriate surface finish.

At La Platera we have range of ADL products that meet these standards and are fully recommended for use on floors that require a high value of slip-resistant.
